21st June - 27th June 2016

We've had a busy week, it has been averaging around 35 and hot all day everyday which is really rough in long pants and a white shirt! Especially when you have the water right there next to you to jump in! Missionary work wise it wasn't the best this week they had a game in the euro cup and beat Spain 2-1! everyone went crazy and that day the whole city was like a ghost town except in center where all the tourists are. The day after the Spain game there was a public holiday meaning still no one on the streets, we just kind of walked around in the 35 degree heat for 6 hours and got a tan. The day after that was pretty normal although we didn't end up finding anyone it was good work.

Then the weekend came and Croatia played in the final 16 against Portugal and lost 1-0 in extra time so that day and the day after everyone was annoying! on Saturday night I kicked the footy for about 30 minutes for the first time in a long time with my comp, he wasn't actually too bad at kicking the footy! Good to know that I still haven't lost it, I think the hardest thing for me was marking I felt like I didn't have as strong hands. The next day was church and we had a normal day, I had to speak which wasn't really a big deal, I spoke on being humble and did pretty good, I told the story about where I crashed my bike when I went with dad on his nightly walk. There were 6 tourist visitors with 2 of them being from Geelong Australia! which was cool, first time I could speak my own language for a long time, it was like my tongue was loosed. His last name was Grbin and he was a recently married man so him and his wife were making there way around europe and he was going to meet his family here in Croatia which he did! His wife was from New Zealand as well.

On Saturday and Sunday I was pretty sick, the first time on my mission, I really didn't enjoy it. I just wanted to be able to eat and enjoy myself and work but I was just not having a good night, I was up most of Saturday night so i had a good nap at lunch on Sunday.

This week we have a zone conference in Zagreb so that should be fun I'm looking forward to that, its a special one because its summer they combined July's and August's zone conferences and made it in to a big one where we stay in the mission home for a night so that should be fun!

A funny thing that happened was when Elder Pantelakis and I decided to buy Croatia flag ties and when the soccer was on a bar full of 100s of people who usually kind of shout at us and aren't nice were all cheering and telling us to come in and watch, it was funny I was tempted to go in but we just kept walking.

14th June - 20th June 2016

I have been contacting all day every day. We moved the house around so we have the airconditioner as its getting really hot inside. I also saved up a voucher so  I got 10% a whole shop so I saved about $15 of my $120 shop.
We are making sausage, eggs and cubed potatos for breakfast in the morning for breakfast. I also have chocolate muesli for breakfast sometimes, we bought a bunch of pasta, chicken and rice so we make something up everyday,
I have read the book of mormon 3 times and I'm in Luke in the bible right now, I'm going to read Jesus the Christ once I finish the new testament and then it will be old testament then I will read a section a day of D&C when I have 138 days left of my mission! :)
I can speak but I make a lot of mistakes still.  I need to learn more words which is what I'm doing now.

7th June - 13th June 2016

Well I'm staying another 2 months here! My new comp will actually be my trainer elder Pantelakis again, this time though I'm the senior comp and district leader still ;) I think its really funny, it is also his very last transfer which is weird.
Im happy though, I love it here its so beautiful! not really sure why I'm still here it could be a million reasons you just never really know. I'm not sure why, we laugh about it though, it will be a great transfer!
I'm really excited I get to see off my trainer and the awesome senior couple the Devers, who will be going home in 7 weeks, I'll miss them.

Below are some pictures that Bozo took for us at the Island.

31st May - 6th June 2016

Nothing much to report. Elder Winfield couldn't speak for long as he was heading out to the Island - wherever that is.

Below are some pics which he managed to share.
