So this week was pretty sad in the end because we had to say goodbye to the Dever's which have been the senior couple here in Zadar for the 8 or so months I have been here!
Monday was pretty fun we had a nice relaxing pday we went to the sea organ and lights to show Elder Palmer as he hadn't seen them before and then we just kind of sat there and relaxed for a few hours, it was really nice just to be able to sit and relax for a bit. After that we went and got some ice cream (I tried redbull flavour which was actually not too bad.) After that we went back home, got changed and back to the grind stone! We found someone that night who listened which was cool but she didn't want to meet up again.
Tuesday we had district meeting which was pretty normal although after that we just had a normal day we were outside all day contacting people, it was really hot on Tuesday I think it was around 32ish to 34ish which made things pretty rough, we didn't end up finding anyone who would listen, so many tourists out that day, I made some nice pasta for lunch though that was fun.
Wednesday we had another day with nothing on really except english class at 6pm but I did get a call from Elder Dever and he needed some help with some things at church so I ended up helping him with a bunch of clerk things for a while, in the end though we actually had no english students as they didn't show up, I think because its summer and they would all rather be having a party at the beach rather then sit in a class learning english!
Thursday we pretty much had the same day as Wednesday except we had people turn up to english and after english we decided to take our dinner break and use it to get ourselves drawn up by some guy who was doing it in the center of Zadar it was fun he gave me a huge nose and ears though! haha quite funny, after that we went back and had some dinner.
Friday was kind of rough as the other elders and the Dever's were in split enjoying themselves while we had an all working day in the heat.. jealous much! :P It was good though we ended up finding someone who seemed at least kind of interested but didn't want to meet up, I guess it was better then nothing. Apart from that though the only thing we didn't was scan the big picture which was drawn of us. We also actually had dinner with the Dever's after they got back which was really nice, we were really tired and it was nice not having to cook, I really didn't feel like it and just before we were about to order some food from a local place the other elders called and said to come over for dinner as Sister Dever prepared something for us!
Saturday was fun, we had an exchange so I was back with Elder Bolan, we had pretty much and all contacting day except for church cleaning. We found someone to talk to, he knew the bible pretty well but believed in some pretty crazy stuff, I tried to give him a book of mormon at the end of it all but he said "no, you see this paper, it is worth a lot" so yeah then he wouldn't take it, I said we had like 500 of these at home and he said well help 500 other people.... interesting... After that we visited a member and shared a spiritual thought with them it was great. Well after that we went and cleaned the church which was fun as always!
Sunday was busy! We had 50 people in church as we had the mission president down and a lot of others because the it was the Dever's last time and we had to sustain the new branch president who is still currently in the MTC but will get here on the 10th of august or something like that. It was kind of sad I got to know the Dever's really well that they will be dearly missed out here. We had dinner with them that night and took some photos, just this morning we said goodbye to them, i guess for me it will be a while as I don't live in Utah... kind of sad.
Nothing too big on this week, happy birthday to dad and Liam though! :) I hit my year mark in a week though so that should be fun! have a good one.
